Try a classic Canadian dish—hot, thick-cut French fries loaded with tasty toppings such as cheddar cheese curds and beef gravy.
Every month at The Daily Poutine at Disney Springs, they introduce a new flavor of poutine to add to their Classic, Latin, Italian, and French standards. The holidays brought us turkey dinner themes and sweet potato fries, but this month, we’re going all american with the Cheeseburger Poutine!
If you don’t know me, I’m a burger and fry fanatic so when I saw this tonight, I about lost my mind and had to try it right away!
The recipe is pretty simple, pictured there to the left, ground beef, beer cheese sauce, lettuce. tomato, onion, pickles, mayo, mustard, ketchup, and fried cheese curds. They were having trouble actually creating this though, I saw the girl behind the counter take three tries at mine and she still forgot the pickles and the fried cheese curds, but she was super sweet about it and gave them to me on the side.
The pickles are very good so I’m glad I asked about getting them. I actually think I may ask for extra when I go back, and I’m sure I will.
The beef, and there was a lot of it, was seasoned really nicely and while I didn’t find the fried cheese curds to have much flavor, I did like the crunch they added to the dish.
One thing of note, the onions are actually cooked in the beef, so if you’re a no onions person, this may not be for you. However, if it’s not an allergic thing, I’d say go for it because these flavors all blend together giving you an overall cheeseburger taste.
It’s a little weird and really good.
Which makes me really happy because I like things that are weird and good. 😉
Try it this month at The Daily Poutine right by World of Disney and Amorette’s Patisserie.
